These terms summarise how Rideshare Central (ACN 655 240 412, ABN 22 655 240 412) supplies vehicles for sale and on rent to own. Your written contract will contain the full terms that apply to you.
1. Rent to own — vehicles
We offer rent-to-own terms for vehicles which are either part of our fleet or freshly imported by us. You must have at least a 30% upfront deposit and a reliable source of income. We may also arrange finance for you through an independent broker if required.
2. Conditions
- Term: contract for up to 36 months.
- Deposit: 30% or more. The larger the deposit, the larger the savings.
3. Our responsibility
- Provide vehicles with current registration, or registration for up to one year.
- Supply the vehicle in full working condition with a blue slip or pink slip, as the case may be.
4. Your responsibility
- Register with us electronically — free of charge — on the Commuti portal.
- Inspect the vehicle to your satisfaction. You can take the vehicle for inspection after leaving a refundable deposit with us.
- Pay for comprehensive insurance monthly or annually. We will arrange the insurance on your behalf. Clients in the ACT or VIC may need to pay extra if intending to drive for rideshare.
- Maintain the vehicle until you assume ownership and provide service documents.
- Maintain breakdown / roadside assistance cover.
5. Ownership, termination and early payout
- At the end of the term, on a payment of $1.00, vehicle ownership is transferred to you (transfer costs are at your expense).
- The contract can be terminated any time after serving four weeks’ notice, and you owe nothing provided rent has been paid and the vehicle is in the same condition as supplied.
- You can pay off early after one month. The premium we charge monthly is waived for the balance of the term.
- There are other conditions as part of the contract which will be advised once you agree to the above.
6. Eligibility
You must:
- Be over 21 with a clean Australian licence
- At least a 30% upfront deposit
- A reliable source of income
- Direct debit set up for weekly rent
- An eTag to pay for tolls
- 100-point identification to meet Australian Federal Police identity requirements
7. Vehicle sales
We source brand-new and used vehicles, including Japanese imports and vehicles from local dealers. Pricing and availability are confirmed in writing at the time of your enquiry.
8. Important note
We are not a car dealer and do not hold a finance licence. Ours is a family registered business and we pass on savings to our clients by keeping our overheads down.
